Lucky we don't have to run front plates.
Can you shim it down farther to better fit the rest of the opening?

I assumed it's screwed onto the front bumper support?

Looks like a spacer between the bumper cover and support might solve the problem. Jus tricky to get something in there

yea the kit comes with a ~1.5" nylon spacer that slides between the bumper support and cover, but it still mounts like in the pic..i also threw in a 1/4 drive socket as an additional spacer but it affects the angle of how the license plate bracket mounts. when i put in that socket spacer, it angled it too much where when you slide in the actual license plate bracket, the back of the license plate bolts sit on the bumper cover or wont even slide on the lower mount correctly.

If you look at the pic of the top view (looking down at mount), if i used additional spacers, the angle would cause the bolts behind the license plate to rub hard against the bumper cover, or wont allow it to mount properly into the base altogether.

There was a guy here local ( Maryland ) that was making front license plates out of vinyl static cling stuff. They looked really good and allowed the tag to be displayed and removed easily from a clean bumper.

I haven't seen him in a while.

For sure looks like there needs to be a spacer between the bumper cover and the support.
Which will probably make the bracket visible when the plate isn't in (if it isn't already).
I'd rather see the license plate than some bracket.
Right now i'm just not feeling it.

Kinda feel the same. Front plates are so common that when I see something else my eye is drawn to it. Off-center plates, plates mounted on a lower chin spoiler, plates on dash. Imho it would be better "hidden" just running a standard front plate setup
