stock 99 gt brakes

Are my rear brakes smaller then my front brakes or am i just seeing things?

Yes, the front brakes are indeed larger than the rear. The stopping load is much greater on the front wheels, than the back.

Look closely and you will see that the front rotors are vented and the rears are solid because the front brakes get more abuse. The vented rotors are designed to dissipate heat quickly which will extend pad life and the brake system. Friction produces heat and heat is never a good thing. Produces brake fade and will warp the rotors so the quicker the heat can escape, the better the system works.
