stock atlernator question

Check voltage at the battery with a full load. My stock voltmeter sees a voltage drop for some reason, which makes it seem like I am discharing with a full load, but I am not.

Good luck.

i dont know what full load means. if i had to guess i would say all the accesories on.

i went out there and got 14.2. with all accesories on it goes down to 12.1, is that normal?

Is this with the stock gauge, or are you using a multimeter and probing both battery terminals? 12.1 is too low, unless the battery is not charged.

A 130 should suffice. They added a lot of alternator just for the electric fan, so I would assume you have some left over....

12.1 is at the battery terminal. another thing that i can notice is with the a/c on max it gets weaker when the volts drop, but then when i start driving it blows a little bit harder.

The fan speed thing is normal for me too (my idle is 700 RPM). But as Scott said, those volts are no good. you should be about a half to one volt higher with a full load.

Many parts stores can test the system if you stop by.

Otherwise, a bad connection, battery, alt, etc can cause issues like that.

Good luck.
