Stock cable too short for Steeda D-hook quadrant

When I installed my Steeda Double hook quadrant and firewall adjuster, I had a hard time putting the cable on the hook. In fact, I had to put the cable on the hook, and then put the quadrant on. The clutch releases on the top of the pedal. Did I do something wrong or should I just return it and get a 3 hook from UPR???

(The firewall adjuster is all the way screwed in)

Which hook are you using? I believe for a stock cable you're supposed to use the hook closest to the firewall. Mine wouldn't go on until I backed my F/W adjuster all the way in (like you said you did), so the only thing I can figure is the placement @ the quadrant (or a wrong cable).

i had to back my adjsuter almsto allt eh way in to get my stock cable to hook into my steeda quadrant.

stock cabel uses the closest to firewall i believe. the isntructiosn tell all though.

biggest PITA for me was getting teh stock quadrant/adfjsuter and sprigns off

I got the UPR 3-hook quadrant and it works great. The problem was that the steeda quadrant has their hooks in the wrong places.
