Hi, my mods are in my sig and i will be adding a 100 hp "Dry" Zex nitrous kit to my car. i will be upgrading the fuel system and ignition as needed but my question is about the cam. Should I leave the stock cam in the car or should I have one made by Ed Curtis over at FTI. This car is going to be basically a street car but will see the track occasional. The spray is for some extra fun and will be used when needed. Thanks in advance

Give Ed a call and ask him to see what he says. I would leave the stock cam in there my self unless I was going to upgrade to a better head that would appreciate a custom cam. That's just me tho.

You've got a great trans set-up, but I'm thinking that Ed would want to see more converter with that much nitrous. Because the heads have been worked on, he's probably going to want to know the flow numbers, valve sizes, port sizes, etc. I can almost guarantee you that you're valve springs will be inadequate as well.

It's all money.

These heads were pulled off of a Race car and sent out to a shop. The valve springs are good up to .600 lift and 7000 rpms

Yeah like Joe said, to accuratly design a custom cam you'll need accurate flow #'s through out the whole flow test. Just calling ed and saying "I have ported and polished gt40 heads" isn't gonna cut it.
I'd use a bigger injector like a 30lb especially for dry nitrous. Get yourself a 255 high pressure pump.

Lift figures help a bit.

Spring pressures determine RPM. Stock GT springs are "good" to 7000 RPM, the question is just for how many times. When the valves are opening 40 times a second, the springs take the beating.

What are the spring pressures?

Huh? I wouldn't take stock GT springs above 6000 even for one revolution .

Silly crack smokers...

I agree with you Dave. A few weeks ago, I was informed that the early 94 T4M0's did indeed have the rev limiter set at 7000 RPM. This was confirmed by both Paul and Jake. I actually thought they were mistaken.

The things that make you go "hmmm"....

I like your sig too...
