Stock HP?

I drive a 91 lx 5.0 convertible, automatic, a friend told me that the stock convertibles only came with 190 horsepower while the non convertibles came with 220 or 225 whichever it was, I was just wondering if that is true?

Yeah...not true...the 87-93 bhp horsepower is rated at 225hp for the 5.0L...and to those 93 year model haters ...they have the same rating...the 205hp rating was just a marketing ploy by Ford to make the 94/95 gt's @ 215hp look better...

Your car probably has about 190rwhp...but from Ford is rated at 225hp at the motor...

Your friend was either misled or doesn't know what he is talking about...

the numbers he quoted you sound familiar - perhaps from the 4 eye vintage (IIRC, when they segued from different fuel systems, the autos had a year where they used a disimiliar system from sticks and HP numbers were different).

225 hp is right... and whoever said 205 is wrong hp for 93 mustangs is right. just a change in rating. but 1 thing most people dont understand is they dont all have exactly the same hp (87-93) there was a few changes threw out that time some mite have 222hp some 218hp, like 93 mustangs dont have same pistons as 87-92 and the speed density 87-88 and other changes i cant remember this second. there not all exactly the same hp

Well yeah I doubt any 5.0 has the EXACT same horsepower...

But 225hp is a good ballpark figure that should be stuck with...
