Stock Plenum Bore?

I've heard on more than one occasion people doing a bore on the stock plenum, any one done it ?

The reason it is bored is not necessarily because it is too narrow, it is mostly done b/c there is a lot of **** in there.

I've done routine cleaning of the entire intake set-up, but this guy keeps talking about a more even air flow,
