Stock rear

Just wondering how much abuse the stock rear can take? Could it withstand slicks with a hard launch? HP limitation?

I have seen many people post that drag radials + performance increases make the read end's survival on any given launch a crap shoot...

trouts very right. slicks will break anything. id say with a stock 8.8 28spline blah blah blah, no more then 300, with slicks and a good launch. but, even at that number id have a trailor handy.

I've seen a mostly stock GT destroy its rear before....launched @4500 and snapped an axle shaft

it's really a crap shoot, some cars take it forever & some break on the first try. but more often than not they tend to last a while. the 8.8 is a pretty strong rear end. slicks will tend to destroy the carrier & dr's tend to break axles
