I think you have to get a different chip? or a new ignition like MSD or whatever..

Definitely a new chip, new ignition box or similar device. FMS has one, but it probably costs more than a MSD or Crane ignition box.

Unless you plan some serious mods like heads, cam, intake, etc, don't consider it . The stock engine runs out of power above 5200-5400 RPM

I don't think an ignition box will do it on a 5.0. You will need a chip, an after market computer like a PMS, or you'll have to have somebody modify your existing ecm.

An ignition box won't remove your rev limiter. At least the 6al that I have didn't. You would have to install an aftermarket chip if you wanted to do it yourself. Otherwise I believe you would have to go somewhere where they know what they're doing to modify the stock brain.

Doesn't have a rev limiter? All mustangs came stock with a rev limiter set to 6250RPM. How do you know that yours doesnt have one?

A previous owner might have had it reset higher. Is there an aftermarket chip on your computer?

What mods do you have that require more RPMs?
