now i hear the only reason i shouldnt put the tri ax shift handle on my stock shifter base is because there are no "stop screws" and I could mess up my syncros. Is there a way to make your own stop screws??

You can mess up the syncros with the stock handle so that is not a reason not to install another handle. It all comes down to how you "DRIVE" the car what happens to the syncros.

Tell that to the trans in my Supercoupe. 3rd gear is way gone.

Just put the Tri-ax on; it will be sweet. Then save some money, and get an MGW.

I do not know what the blocker rings in the Tremec are made our of. But in the 4 speeds that used brass blocker rings it some times only took a couple of missed shifts and they needed replacement.

A replacement shift helps BUT does not guaranty you will not miss a shift.
