The main weakeness in the 4R is primarily the OD band, which doesn't really come into play when dealing with drag racing. Your OD should be off anyway.

The weakeness is the rear. Just upgrade them like everyone else does, and you should be ok.

Upgrade to what? Dont mean to hi jack but i have a question, When im on D and punch it the RPM's fly up and then the car responds alil later. No too long but i was wondering if this is normal.

I just have Borla exhaust, C&L upper and C&L maf right now.

Trans strength

If you are not planning on S/C'ing I would not worry about it. By the way check out tccoa.com to mod your tranny for less than 50.00 it is the famous Jerry's Mod shift kit. Your trans will respond quicker after. Go with the Aggressive Blue spring/No spring for 1-2 and No spring for 2-3 and the Mild Drill set for Separator plate. It is all explained there. It is great!

The 8.8 itself is a very strong rear end, he means upgrading the stock 28 spline axels to stronger 31 splines.

And while your at it go ahead and replace the stock trac-loc with a 31 spline Eaton locking diff, throw in some 4.10's, and finish it off with a nice T/A rear end girdle. :nice:
