Its been in the garage with the cover over it for about 2 months...I'm starting it pretty much once every 1-2 weeks...and pulling it out and taking around the block every 4-5 weeks...due to MASSIVE amounts of roadsalt EVERYWHERE

Other than disconnecting the battery cable...is there anything else i should do???


I'm most concerned about getting flatspots on my brand new nittos...

you might wanna try starting it atleast twice a week and letting it get to full operating temp...

I could do that...should I be worried about flat spots or no?

If you get flat spots they will be gone after a few minutes of driving it again in the spring. I honestly don't think you even need to start it much, I take my battery out and it doesn't start for 3-4 months. Reason being...after it's sat for a certain amount of time the oil has left the upper half of the engine completely, so each week when you start it you're starting a bone dry engine. Why subject it to repeated stressful starts like that when you'd be just as well to let it sit all winter and only dry start it once?

Isn't it a bit late to winterize it....heck might as well just keep doing what you've been doing, driving season is back in a month.

If you really want to winterize it, put it on jackstands...or just roll it a few inches to avoid flatspots. Don't forget to change the oil come spring....and if you're not gonna run it awhile....a fuel stabilizer wouldn't hurt it any, not likely to have any problems, but why chance it and have to drain the whole tank over a few bucks.

fuel stabalizer, change oil in the spring, disconnect battery


dont worry about flatspots, with modern tires you shouldnt get flat spots at all

Thanx alot guys...i'll pick up some fuel stabilizer later...

I never really thought about the whole "dry starting"...makes perfect sense though...
