storing your stang

Here is a bad story and another reason to hate terrorist. I have been deployed to Iraq for 8 months and during that time I did my research and ordered over $4000 in new parts (see signature). Well I went home 3 weeks ago for 2 weeks R&R and threw all the parts on in a day (a long day but still a day). I noticed some blueish gray smoke coming out of the tail pipes and #8 cly fouled out and was missing bad. I narrowed it down to a bad valve seal in that cly. Well it was a worse leak then I thought I burned through 5 qts in just 4 days. Then all Hell broke loose. Ticking and knocking then stalling and missing. Well in fear of taking it to the local ford dealership which is run by warrenty nazi's I took it to a local performance shop. Well he told me that the engine was done for. So there I was a day before I had to go back to the land that time forgot and I need a new engine. Luckly the guy used to be a ford tech for 15 years and had friends. He called a guy at a ford dealership about 2 hours away and they said they will throw a new engine in under warrenty even with all the mods.

So the moral of the story is when you are storing your car for along period of time do it where someone can start it for you. I did use lucas oil stabilizer and fuel stabilizer but the guy said that wasnt enough because ford uses crapy valve seals and it happens alot.

The ultimate cause was the oil pump went cause of low oil and spun a bearing.

I blame this all on the terrorist (and my wife for not starting the car)

mine will probly be nasty too, haven't friven her since Nov. But I think shes been started a few times and I know shes been on a trickle charger.
