I recently picked up a 92 GT Vert that was converted from auto to a 5sp. The car is supercharged, full borla exhaust, FFRP headers and more.

While I am driving it with the top down or the windows open, I get a lot of heat coming from under the right side of the drivers seat and the ashtray area of the console. It gets so hot that I can not keep my hand there for very long. It feels like there is a heater vent blowing in that area.

Then if I put the top up and close the windows, I get no heat in that area at all. It is a cool as can be. I know it must have something to do with the pressure in the cabin, but I owned a 91 GT Vert years ago and don't remember getting any heat from the console area when I had the top down.

Has anyone heard of this before? could it be caused by the 5sp conversion. I need to pull the console to see if there is anything there, but I thought I would check here first.

thanks..

try this.......pull the leather boot off your shifter and see if the weather boot is mounted on the floor, or if your able to see the side of the trans and the ground its missing. its a real heave gauge rubber. what your feeling is the heat off your headers/ h pipe. those rubber pieces are a pita to remove and install with the center console in place.
