Here's a motor I put together for a buddy, the torque is strange as it's flat until @ 2800. Any thoughts on what's casuing this. It's a 306ci, 9.5:1, cam is small.

Do you know anything else about the combo, intake, heads, seems like he might have too large heads or something. Too much air in the low rpms can hurt tq.

I know everything about the combo but don't want to post too much this will turn into a "you should be doing this" thread because it doesn't look like your typical combo. What puzzles me is the thing is a monster on the street from a stop light and power is abundant down low with no signs of lag until 2800rpm as dyno shows.

It doesn't look lagging to me. Looks like a torque monster 302 with good power up top. Looks like its making appx 290ft/lbs from 2300-2800, then starts taking off a little harder.

Mind sending me the combo in a PM? I like combo's that do all the internet racers claim is "impossible" to do

Motor was tuned with a EEC tuner, we played with timing tables until we found peak power at a/f we were after. Theres roughly 8 degrees added to stock table until about 3500rpm. Power around streets comes on real smooth and even.
