stretched clutch cable

How much is a clutch cable supposed to stretch? I have a steeda setup on my car and have to adjust it weekly. Took my car to carlisle and noticed i started have problems shifting. My clutch cable is so stretched now I can adjust it anymore and the pedel is so loose it just moves back and forth with no pressure? is this something nomal? does it have anything to do with getting super hot running by my turbo manifold?

That sounds typical of a cheap adjustable cable. The extra heat only makes it worse.

Back in the day, that was all you could do. No with firewall adjusters, you can run a good quality stock cable and still be able to adjust it. Look into a firewall adjuster and a good cable.

One can also run an SN95 cable for a little more length if header clearance is tight.

Get a good heavy duty cable with a well made quadrant. Should stop some stretch, but you may have other problems. Clutch/throwout bearing may be dragging requiring more pressure to release the clutch. Check my sig if you need new parts.

It's one thing to advertise on the forums. It's another if your prices are high.

clutch and throwout bearing dragging? come on, please. A t/o bearing is only gonna drag is if it's not adjusted properly, as it's supposed to be adjusted snugly against the pressure plate.

Anyhow, I agree with the rest, get a good cable and firewall adjuster. A good cable won't stretch at all. also, check your cable routing.

seems to me that in order to have a TOB 'drag', that would require the retainer to be chewed up.
