stripped exhaust manifold bolt

2001 gt

i have a used mustang, it has a stripped bolt on the manifold between the headers and h pipe on the passenger side. i took a bolt extractor to it, and it couldn't grip it. its pretty much rounded off.

if i took this into a shop, what should i expect to be done?

I had an issue like that. My buddy used a oxy acetylene torch and heated the flange red hot till all i had to do was lightly tap the stud out.

I used a dremel and cut the bolt off lol

so far i spent about 4 hours going at it with a die grinder.... barley any progress.

any ideas?

Get it hot again and rub a candle against the threads. The wax will work its way down and make it easier to free it. I thought it sounded dumb the first time I heard that too. lol
