I really dont want to add a supercharger, i just dont, so i refuse to give up on my quest for real NA power.

i am going to get a bored stroker block and run it at 11:1 or so to be the main plant. my only hangups are here.... will i have to get a tune right after the swap or will the stock tune be just fine? Fuel is my next concern... will the injectors need to be changed as well to support the new block?

aside from the stroker, i will, at some point, be adding RR upper and lower intake, full exhaust, densecharger (or shaker system if no clearance issues with RR intake), pullies, and cam.... headwork may get done too, but i will stop whenever i get to 450 to the floor.

I also plan to get the preditor if i do have to tune the car right after the block so i can make small adjustments as the small additions are placed.

anything you can suggest or notify me of would be most welcome... seems the stroker knowledge is kinda lacking.

450 may be hard, I remember reading VT was getting around 400rwhp out of a stroked and bored 5.3 Thats with cams and heads. Someone please correct me if im wrong! So with the setup you described Im not sure you will reach 450. And personally I would do heads and cams before the shortblock. The stock shortblock will hold fine with that HP levels and you will most likely see a great gain if you already have the P&P heads and cams when you add the stroker. Also I do not believe a predetor is that advanced to do a complete custom tune, but again, please correct me if im wrong.

For a stroked AND bored setup, you'll need something like VT's 324 big bore stroker Cobra shortblock. Mucho $$$$$$$$. I don't know what kind of gains you'd see with just the shortblock swap for displacement, but I don't think it would be that great since the heads will choke it to death. You won't be able to rev high until you get some better heads/cams/intake, the stock stuff just won't make power up there.

I haven't heard of anyone doing 450RWHP N/A. To do so without a power adder means LOTS and LOTS of money.

You're better off just getting a built 4.6L shortblock and a blower. Lots more power for FAR less money.

well... i am going for it, regaurdless..... i am going for the stroker to get a good starter base. after the block i will do either the cam. then densecharger or shaker, then heads followed by exhaust. most strokers do not go high compression so i have seen... so i dont really know what is out there till i do it. but to make sure, once i do the stroker i will have to tune, then do minor adjustments from there.... correct?
