when my motor eventually goes (118k now) I really dont want to put too much money into it. Later I just plan on a KB or MPH mongoose. I remember working on the 5.0 and to build a stroker was the same as re-building the 302/306. I mean aside from later adding heads and what not.
my question is does this hold true for mod motors and would it be worth it. I dont plan on any kind of head or cams (until one cracks/warps) so everything would pretty much be stock aside from maybe some lt headers and a few other bolt ons.
I am getting more and more to the reliability of the car versus building it, racing it, repairing bc I ran too hard or a 50 cent bolt broke and destroyed a $2000 motor.
is there any real benefit to build a 302 stroker with stock heads and cams?
I usually collect parts piece by piece so I can have it ready when I want to install it. I dont plan on the current motor going anywhere as it runs like new (aside from the small oil leak). just planning for the future.
thanks in advance.
