Will the stock strut tower brace from a 96 Gt fit a 2002 gt?

Actually, I think it MIGHT. Remember, the 94-98's and the 99-04's are basically the same car, just different bodies. Do you know anyone with a '96? If so, see if they will let you try theirs on.

Oh and BTW, since MD stole my STB, I honestly haven't noticed much of a difference. Maybe that's why they quit putting them on Mustangs from the factory.

Edit: Actually, I looked it up, it's strange. A 96-97 can use the same STB, and a 98 uses the same as 99-04. I don't know why, but if you look up aftermarket STB's, you'll notice they offer one for 96-97, and a different one for 98-04.

I ask because i was at the junk yard, more like a mustang graveyard and there were a couple of 96's that still had their brace. The were rear end damaged cars so Im pretty sure the STB is ok. They also had some 2000 and up so I guess ill just take the brace off and try to match it up.

That always pissed me off they stopped putting them on in '97. But if it doesn't make a handling difference its not worth getting around that thing to work in your engine bay. I think you have to drill the holes for it in my car.

'96 + '02 = same chassis
'96 + '02 = 4.6L
so i would say yes.

Why is everyone guessing?

Why would anyone put a STB on their car to Add weight and nothing else?

The STBs don't do anything except stiffen cowl shake in verts, why have more weight in the worst area in the car?

From my own experience, back in '95, they had the tower holes already tapped and ready, and they had the holes on the firewall.

In my '03, the tower holes aren't tapped, and there aren't any holes on the firewall.

Drilling holes is all he would need to do,just like if he went for an after market one as some require drilling.
