For info's sake: on cars with a plastic actuator bracket, there is a rivet through the door (from the outside). On the inside (where the actuator is), the plastic bracket is held to the rivet with a snap ring. If one can get to the snap-ring (which sits conveniently behind the actuator), the actuator assembly comes free. Then one can snake the actuator's bent linkage out of the lock mechanism.
Doesnt sound like that will help, but since you probably cant see inside the door worth a hoot, it cant hurt.
Good luck.
