Stuck in park - help!

Hey all,
I drove the 95 yesterday and it ran fine. I get in it this morning and it won't get out of Park. I jiggled the key and stomped on tehbrake a few times and nothing. In did notice a whistling noise when I stepped on the brakes the last time i drove it. Could I have a vacuum line sprung somewhere that unlocks the shifter?

My car does the same thing sometimes. What I do is turn the engine off, slide the shifter into neutral, restart the car, and go. Freaked me out the first time it happened though. Hopefully this helps.

it could be the little switch at the brake peddle.

id check the brake on/off switch,sometimes you can wiggle that and it will work fine. good luck!

I could be wrong, but i dont think its the BO/O switch that controls the shifter coming out of park... theres a cable that attaches to the shifter that controls this and its manually released by another sensor connecting to the brake pedal which looks like a plunger connected to a hose. i beleieve this is the function of this, so u might want to check that connection out...

mine poped a fuse before and drove me nuts for about an hour. my mom suggested to check the fises and sure enough... swapped it out and no more problems
