Stuck in reverse

I just had a rebuilt engine put in my 98 GT along with Mac Cold air intake, Ford jet hot coated headers, Accufab 75mm throttle body and plenum, PI head swap kit and 3.73 gears. I was looking forward to the Labor day weekend to put some miles on it. I put about 160 miles on it during the week with no problems. Yesterday I put it in reverse to park in my garage and when I went to put it back in 1st it would'nt budge, stuck in reverse. What can I do to get back on the road? Thanks in advance.

I've had this problem on my stock 00 Stang GT

mine goes back into first only after I step on the clutch and give it some gas. I notice that it doesn't normally get stuck if I rev the engine when I first start it up.
