Stud mount and Pedestal mount rockers : pros and cons?

Mine are also 7/16 stud. The reason for having all this work done to my heads is because I want to run the times that others run with aluminum heads, low 12's/high 11's, then upgrade AFTER that. I've always had a 'Do more with less' attitude towards racing.

with stud mount, i should use hardened pushrods specific for guideplates? any suggestions and what length? links would be great

as far as rockers go, could i use these ( the proforms are all but new but i just hear so much negative stuff about them ) ?

these are actually 7/16 stud

the heads come with 3500 miles proform rockers. those would be sold and the money would be put toward a better/different set

I'm pretty certain you and I are talking about different kits here

The kits I've seen allow for no machine work what so ever

Thus ... you end up with a 5/16" stud on the bottom that will screw in the
unmodified OEM hole.

At least that is how I remember those kits I've seen over the years

Yes ... I've seen it said they've exploded thus sending roller bearings down
the oil drain holes

I'd take a pass on them

The answer to the original question is easy.

Stud mount are better for a few reasons:

1. They use larger (stiffer and stronger) studs
2. They are adjustable, most peds require shimming which sucks
3. There are far more choices of stud mounts in the aftermarket for the above reasons
