Ok reinstalling the valvetrain and I notice that the fulcrum on the RR's (specifically the center hole where the stud goes thru) has a machined flat on one side around the center hole, and if I roll the fulcrum over 180 deg. while holding the rocker body steady the other side does not have this flat. Is my assumption correct that the flats face up and mate with the locks going on top of the rocker?

If I'm comfusing anyone I can elaborate...sorry for no pics my camera isnt home.

You're right about the rockers, the flat part on the fulcrum should face upward. For the lifters, everything I've read says it makes no difference which direction the hole faces, and they were all random when I pulled them out of a factory built 5.0, so that's how the new ones were installed. I just dropped them in without paying any attention to it, and it's been about a year now with no issues.

cool...I noticed that the notch in the rockers looks like an arrow/triangle that points downward. Maybe its there to show the orientation of the lifter. But I think its pretty obvious that the roller portion goes down into the block. Oh well, since it doesnt matter...who cares.
