my car will stumble at WOT or under normal acceleration. some days it does it and some days it doesnt. anyone know a common cause for something like this, last week I changed my fuel filter and ran some injector cleaner through it. I will probable change the spark plugs tomorrow. any other suggestions

no I havent changed the o2 sensors. Is there a way to tell if they are bad? getting codes pulled?
if they were really bad the check engine light would be on. most people i have talked to recommend changing them at 60k miles though. i just changed mine because i had the CEL light but my car runs better now.

I put an o/r X on a few weeks ago so my check engine light is always on now, but it was never on before I put the X pipe on. and I am at 63k

yah i had to buy mil eliminators with my o/r h pipe. im getting my car inspected this month so i hope they dont look under there. :D

Check the MAF sensor element. Sometimes they get dirty which can affect its accuracy. Since EEC V also uses the MAF sensor to also determine altitude, it can cause all types of problems. If you try to clean it, be VERY careful. Those little wires and resistors are quite delicate. Use glass cleaner and a very soft touch with small paint brush. Rinse with water.

Next thing to do is try running it without the chip.

I'm gonna bet you its your plugs and wires. I had the same problem and i got new plugs and wires. Its been good ever since. When I cleaned out my MAF i used brake cleaner on it. It evaporates and doesn't seem to leave any residue, plus you dont touch the wires with anything, so no damage can really be done. I might replace my front 02's soon.

Well I hope its plugs and wires too, since I was planning on changing them this weekend. I will probably go with ford motorcraft copper plugs. any suggestions for new plug wires?

Sounds just like the problem i have.

My car did the same exact thing, when changing the plugs, i found out my 2nd cylinder is taking up oil.... the plug was covered.

For now i just changed the plugs and the car is running great, but i'm sure its gonna come back around...

Good luck.

you need mil eliminators to clear the check engine, because that light is on your car is running on limp mode.

I know thats the reason for my check engine light, but from what I understand that will not make your car go into limp mode
