Stumped on my dyno numbers

Driven it hard a few times on the street. It goes... but i've just seen similar setups that make at least 50 more hp and waay more torque... if anything the torque really doesn't look right.

So what tuning was done while it was on the dyno to give you the gain of 10 or was that just variance between pulls.
(it doesn't actually sounds like it was dyno tuned, just dyno tested...and there is a difference so please correct me if this is not accurate)

As for greatest improvement ditch the carb and get one specifically prepped for the car and power from Bigs Carbs.
The 770 Avenger I had was a dog.

Do you have a pick of the fule curve ? If it's bowed and not flat, and all he did was take jet out, may need another tuner.

All your power will be made in the heads and cam. Either lacks, and the power won't be there.

From what I've heard the issue with the Patriots isn't so much that they are always just weak heads, its that they vary a ton in quality.

Some heads perform almost comparably to the AFRs they were based (copied) off of, some look so horrid they're lucky to match GT40Ps or ported 351w heads. Of course this is hearsay as i have never seen them in person but the pictures some have posted on other sites is really telling. I wouldn't mess with them personally but if he's making over 300 at the wheels he obviously didn't get a terrible set.

IMO his numbers, especially considering he doesn't have a perfectly matching setup and ideal headers, intake (I still say he should get a Vic Jr, if for no other reason than his cam... that cam will make max power around 6300 rpm and the RPM is running out of breath there), etc... those heads seem to do pretty well.

Really I don't think his numbers are too bad. Add a Vic Jr, add some hooker super comps, and jet the carb so that the A/F ratio is around 12.5-13... should see some decent gains and you won't lose much money as you can resell your Air Gap and tri-ys.

So i recently ran into problems with the heads. My motor was smoking really bad and at first i thought the rings were not sealed yet. But the smoking got worse. Then I thought it was the valve seals on the head so we had one of the rockers pulled off and it turned out that 10 of the 16 valve guides were broken. Called patriot and they told me to send the heads back to them. They fixed them and I had them put back on and got new headers as well. Hooker pro comps, I had tri y's before. Had the car redynoped and I was happy with the new numbers. I got 360 rwhp and 391 rwtq. Had it out at the track today for the first time and here`s my best run:
r t....760
60'...2.024
330...5.474
1/8...8.290
MPH...86.54
1000...10.725
1/4...12.763
MPH...110.79
On street tires

With a little practice and more passes I think I should be able to get into low 12`s
With slicks I might even crack 11`s... wishful thinking

holy hell, 10 of them broken? how did that even happen? makes me wonder what alloy they were using for them
(note to self: never use patriot heads on any pushrod engine)
glad to see you got the issue figured out though, thats a nice jump in power
