NEVER BUY A DEMON
went to take my air cleaner off because my carb was leaking gas everywhere and the air cleaner bolt broke off
how does it come out, do i have to drill it?

How far down did the bolt break? If it's not too tight in there you might be able to coax it out with a small flat blade screwdriver.

You're the first person I know to say something negative about a Demon. Is it a new or used carb? If you're really that unhappy with it I'll take it off your hands for $20.;)

The bolt sticks up bout a quarter inch.
Bought the carb for 200 at a swap meet. some guy had tried to put two of them on a blower but they are not blower carbs. it was pretty much new when i got it. my speed shop wont even sell them cause they never tune like a holley. they told me to sell it to some one who doesnt know how bad they are. I bought a whole book on tuning demons and im just now getting to run how i want it. I cant sell it , its the only carb i have

I suggest soaking it down with PB blaster. Soak it about 4 times throughout a day...then get a pair of vice grips on that thing and it will come out. You could also apply some heat if that doesnt work. Just not too much.

I dont think there is anything wrong with Demon Carburetors....sounds like there was a problem with your weak air cleaner bolt. What kind of demon is it?

Um, if you apply heat to it, remove the carb from the engine, drain it and let it dry out. Don't blow yourself up.
:flame: :flame: :rlaugh: :rlaugh: :rlaugh: You'd be surprised at what some people would try :D :D I've just started a new job hauling gasoline to stores, the other day we had just backed into a store and started unloading reg. unleaded, when I walked around the back of the trailer to find a teenager, just out of school for the day, smoking a cigarette 10 ft from the trailer loaded with 8500 gallons of gas :notnice: I asked him if he wanted to get blown up? He asked why? :bang: :bang: I replied, Uh, maybe cause we're unloading gas here ?

Not to thread hijack too badly.....

I was under an 86 mustang swapping external fuel pumps.....covered in gas....running down my arms, in my face, all over my hands.....

The guy I was doing it for was standing by the rear 1/4. All of a sudden, I smell something.....

He had lit up a cig.
