quite honestly it's not supposed to tune like a holley, the whole reason i bought mine. i hate holleys it does however tune similar to a holley and uses most holley service parts, in my opinion the demon is much better carb than any holley ever was
take the carb apart and take a look at the jets and every other possible area where fuel flows. I have heard that SOMETIMES small pieces of metal caught in there after production.
AND, if you take the time to READ each thread, you will see that NO ONE said you put a torch on your carb. Let me sum that portion up: I suggested that you do it to help loosen the air cleaner stud. And someone else said to NOT do it unless the carb was off your car and cleaned. To which I responded: I thought that was a given.
Now, have you tried the PB BLASTER for a day and then the vice grips? Another option is...if you know someone that has a welder, you could screw a nut on there and then have them tack it on there...again you run into the fuel issue though. Once the Nut is tacked, you have something that your socket can grip on.
ive already taken out afew peices of metal that was stuck in passages in the carb i put wd 40 on it- and that did not work never heard of pb blaster, ill look for it next time im at the store. the idea with tacking a nut on there sounds good, thanks
I have a Speed Demon on my stroker, I have not started to fine tune it, but have found some guidelines on the web. I downloaded a paper that explains in detail how to set these carbs up correctly. Anyone who would like a copy just PM me with your email and I will forward it on to you. There are two parts, the main paper and an addendum written by someone else that corrects an initial setting error. I hope this helps, Jeff
Um, I didn't suggest you heat the carb up, someone else did.
I merely suggested that if you decide to go that route, be sure to get it away from a fuel source. With only 20 posts, I have no idea of your mechanical abilities or knowledge.
