Last weekend, I waxed and polished my car, and she was looking mighty sexy. To finish things off, I degreased the engine bay, and as I was finishing up, I was LIGHTLY wiping over some hoses in the back of the bay, and the coolant hose going to the heater core came loose and sprayed hot coolant all over my face and arm. I was initially pissed due to the pain and poor connection of the hose, but I reclamped it down and everything was fine. However, when I push the car at all, the hose busts loose and I lose all my coolant (nothing was harmed, temp gauge never made it above half before I shut it off). So yeah, basically now, I clamp it down, and it comes off if I push the car. However, since the last time I did it, it's stayed on and I even went WOT a few times. I'm gonna take it to Ford anyway and have them seal it up for good. Not something I want coming off in the middle of nowhere and potentially harming my engine.

Did you check to see if part of it broke off in the hose? I broke a "t" fitting right around there and it looked fine but it was missing the first two barbs so it wouldnt stay in anymore. I got a universial t at kragens and hose clamped it on.

You better believe I'm heated about this. I'm taking it there tomorrow and make sure they check everything else so I don't end up in another ****hole.

So before I went to Ford today, I checked out the connection. The little nipple that goes into the hose (which is connected to the intake manifold) seems to be cracked, therefore it is not going up the hose entirely and not connecting properly. I took it to the dealership, and they confirmed what I discovered. Looks like my car never got taken in for the recall to get the aluminum manifold, as I still have the cheesy plastic one. They are going to replace it, but it is not covered under my motor's warranty and I missed the recall date by one year. Ugh... The lady, however, said that she was gonna try to get the work done free of charge since I just spent so much on the new motor. We'll see what happens, but I should be getting hooked up with a new aluminum manifold.
