I finally got the vert out last night for some topless enjoyment and on the way back home the dash lights went out. I thought that the switch had slid over and dimmed them with out me noticing so i tried to spin the dial and it was damn near froze in place and when i did manage to get it to move it took me a min. to get the lights back on bright.
Is there a way to refurbish these things or am i SOL and going to have to buy a new one?

I think you will need a new one. Mine goes out like that, but I'm able to move it until the lights come back on.

One note if you drive it at night before you replace it. On my car, if the dash lights go out, all of the exterior lights go out too, except for the headlights! A local police officer stopped me and let me know. Luckily he used to own a Mustang and knew about the light wiring issues, and I was able to make them come back on.

Good luck on it!

Ill have to check that and make sure that its just the dash lights.
ive looked at a couple of salvage yards and they wanted like 45 bucks for a used one, LMR is 100 for a new one, i can probably pick one up on ebay for under 20 but id be in the same boat in a year or two. might just save some coins and buy the new one.
