Stupid Melling oil pump shaft.

Hey everyone. I was changing my distributor and my oil pump shaft must have come up and fell down into my oil pan. I got the shaft by taking the oil pan loose and pulling it out. Moral of this is don't by a Melling oil pump shaft.

or put a clip on it like the stocker has to keep that from happening

The melling driveshaft comes with a clip as well. its not the oil pump driveshaft's fault, that is operator error right there.. No matter the brand, the thing would have fallen in without a clip. refer to pimp tight drawing on how to install it next time

Just be happy you don't have one of the 2-piece shafts like my first motor.
