Ok, I have been told different things as to why my headers cause my h-pipe to hit the tranny crossmember. But the main reason I am being told this is because my crossmember is installed wrong. I was told the higher hump, more clearance, should be on the driver's side? And the smaller hump, less clearance, should be on the passenger's side? Well, mine is the opposite. But after looking really well under my car, the air tube that come off the smog pump connects to the h-pipe and is really tight against the crossmember as well, even though it should have more clearance, since the larger hump is on the passenger's side. So, I am wondering how to do you guys have your crossmembers installed? Is mine right or wrong? Maybe this will fix my header problem?

Yes, the higher hump should be on the driver side.

Thanks, that's what MAC told me also, I don't know why the idiots that put my tranny back in turned it around. I will have to switch it back, maybe that will solve my header hitting problem. Do you think the air tube will then hit on the smaller hump?

Ok, now I am a little suspicious. I just read a story of installing long tubes and x-pipe on a fox body in an old 5.0 Mustang magazine I have, and it shows pics. Well, the crossmember on there car in the magazine is just like mine is, small hump on driver's side and large hump on passenger's side. What the hell? I am confused. Maybe I should just take it to a muffler shop and let them look at it and tell me if they think switching it around will help?

Well, I got to thinking more about it and remembered I have a photo of the way it is installed in my 5.0...and it can't be installed the opposite way because the transmission mount is offset and the transmission won't fit. The larger hump is on the passenger side and there should be no difficulty fitting the exhaust components.
