When I start my car in the morning, it starts right up but the rpms drop to about 600, after a couple of seconds, they'll even out at about 900 and stay steadily. Then when I put it in first to take off, it sputters and jerks until I hit about 3000 rpms. After that it drives fine, it'll fart a bit, but it's not a backfire, it's like something is missing. The timing is at 14* and my MAF and TPS are freshly cleaned. Why does it do these things?

I would pull codes, paying attention to items like the ECT.

Good luck.

Seems to be a common thing with our cars, mine was doing that exact same thing, so I replaced the ECT sensor. Nothing. Then someone suggested I clean the ACT sensor so I took it out and it was all covered in black carbony sooty stuff. Cleaned it, reset the computer, and the problem went away. Its starting to do it a bit nowadays, so I think I'm gonna take it out again and clean it some more.

That could be it. Since I haven't made my CAI, I have it dangling in the fenderwell.
