Anybody putting aftermarket SFCs on verts?

Am I nuts or does the factory weld in a set of SFCs on verts? My 03 has what looks to be SFCs.

Are people replacing these and finding a huge difference?

This is one thing I cannot grasp.

The factory subs are bolt-in and mostly useless. They are better than nothing, but not by much. There are some fairly significant gains with good full length subs like Steeda, GRC, Hans or MM

the full length weld in subframes are far better than the stock ones. It is a little extra insurance that your doors will keep shutting nicely, also transfers the engine to the wheels better less flex.

Is it recommended to take off the stock SFCs and replace them? Or leave them and add the new...?

They come off and are replaced.
The only value they have is that some race classes require ousing them not aftermarket, so you may be able to sell them.

Excellent point - yep, believe it or not, there is a market for the OEM SFCs. Post an ad over at www.corner-carvers.com.

Stock ones are crap. The MMs are so much better. Makes me want a strut brace though.

Hey guys, thanks for the information. I knew my 'vert had them from the factory, but didn't realize there would be a significant gain by replacing them.

Adding them to the future mod list. :-D

I trashed the factory SF & replaced them with MMFL. You will be doing your conv. a good deed.
