Ok, so I bought some subframe connector for my 90 GT from Blue Oval Industries, I decided to bring it over to work and install them. As I was trying to fir them, I noticed that they dont sit flush with the subframe rail where they should be welded to, specially on the driver side front, is this a case fo a bent frame? I cant even bolt either one of them to the seat bolts. I dont think its the quality of the SFC themselves, any thoughts, ideas?

I bought the red ones from them, only issue I had was the holes(seat bolts) needed to b drilled out a bit then they fit excellent. I only had the back end of the car jacked up aswell.

I think when you are dealing with production tolerances combined with sheetmetal that has bent slightly over years of use it would next to impossible to mass produce subframe connectors that fit perfect on every car.Have a look at the connectors and figure out which way they have to be bent to fit correctly. On the inside of the bend, cut through the 3 sides with a hacksaw or cutoff wheel so that as you bend them the cut gets closed up.Bend them to the proper angle so they fit flush with the subframes and then weld up the cut and grind it smooth.

A SFC that is built straight will never fit a car that has "steps" built into the frame if you know what I mean. You must either bend or cut the SFC to fit the car. The guy I took my Blue Oval SFCs to to install had already made a whole bunch of his own brand of SFC already made that fit right into my car. I left the Blue Oval SFCs at his shop.

i used the blueovals as well.my passenger side fit real nice but the driver side had some gaps.we have a drive up lift at work that i installed mine on.i just welded up the extra gaps in the frame with my mig welder.you need to have the car level and not jacked up when you install sfc's of any kind because you run the chance of slightly twisting the chassis when the cars jacked up and the sfc'c are installed. i don;t blame my sfc'cs for being improperly made because my car is old and had seen some abuse before i got it,besides what can you expect for$50 sfc's anyway?

first make sure you are using a drive up lift so the car is sitting correctly. If that gaps are like 1/4 inch or so then get some steel stock and stack it in there then weld the stock and sfc to the car. I had this issue on the rear passenger side and it worked out fine.
