Seen someone's interior go up.. wiring everything so when it was my turn to put subs on my car I opted to pull the carpet out just to be safe.

Had 3 done no problem and at least that amount on OP's cars. I would have to say a competent welder should have no problems. Sure can see being cautious though I am more lazy than cautious LOL.

A catalytic converter operates normally between 550 and 1,600 degrees Fahrenheit with the optimal temperature being about 806 degrees. Pollutants coming through the exhaust system can raise the temperature over 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit, at which point, the catalytic converter can be severely damaged.

I did mine with everything in and I'm not a great welder. May have to heat and bend to get good fit to subframe.
