Ok rite now i have nothing in the trunk, no spare/jack, no carpet/panels/sound deadner,
nothing.

I will be running 2 12" Alpine Type R's, Hooked up to a JBL 1200.1, each sub will get
400-500watts rms, and be in a sealed box somewhere around 1-1.4cuft. for each sub.

My question is should i make the box faceing forward on a 45* angel facing up too,
and make the subs as close to the rear seat as possible, and then seal the sides and
the top of the box off so no bass can go into the trunk.

Or should i face them up in the middle of the trunk, or just have them facing the
rear of the trunk.

Basicly im trying to get it to hit in the 135+dB range. and still have alittle good sq,
im trying to match the spl of the system we put in my friends old stang.
(it was a hatchback, with 2 15" pioneer subs in a 2.5cuft. per sub sealed box, getting
125-150watts rms to each sub, they were faceing backwards, and hit 137.9dB)

Witch way should i go? And do you think i will be as loud as my friends old system?

Will you be putting your top down at all because if not then just put them as far forward as you can I would think, but if you do use your top then there would have to be room for the bass to resonate in the trunk this is only what I think.

Sounds intersting but... is 135db even possible without more power or more subs atleast in a CONVERTIBLE?

If you do accomplish this then !

At the shop I work at we have done a "baffle board" over the subs to make the setup you described work. Basically we mount the subs in the spare tire well and them build a 3-sided baffle board that is only about 3-4 inches high but extends all the way to the back seat. It allows the top to come down completely but directs all the bass into the interior.

looks like a 4th or 6th order band pass box to me, am i missing something, or is that the "real name" for a band pass box like i said be for i really want a sealed box for Sq, but may do a ported/band pass type deal if i can get good Sq out of it, but evey one i head was more getho bass/ muddy base sounding, 50% of the time i listin to rock so need real tite bass, and 25%/25% techno and then rap....

Red2000GT- thanks ,iknow how it is im in no rush just didnt think you got back online.
