I just picked up a 1990 gt conv. auto and i'm a little dissappointed with the performance off the line. It pulls good over 30 mph, but below it's kinda sad.
This is my first GT, and it's not a daily driver, just a fun toy. I have added Flowmasters and an offroad pipe, but want more, any help would be appreciated.

yup 373's.But more importantly get a high speed stall! It will turn it into a new car!

Might want to dump the AOD too and get a T5/TKO, unless you like that specifically.

I've always heard a couple of hundred RPM below the peak torque. So maybe 2700 RPM

Depends on the brand. The 2 best converters for 5.0's are Edge and Presision Ind. Guys with the Edge swear by the 3000stall. I have the precision Industries and have a 2800 with stock cam. Its a little too big. If your keeping the stock cam go for the 2400
