i have an 87 lx and i need a new sunroof or moonroof whatever it is mine is cracked. my problem is all the mustang sunroofs ive seen are a different shape than mine. mine looks like a rectangle with rounded corners and the others have a little bit of a different shape and are wider. any ideas?

Do you have an aftermarket sunroof? Or an OEM?
If you have aftermarket you will probably have a hard time finding replacement parts. You might need to get the next size up sunroof to fix it.
If you have an OEM, then you can probably search eBay or J/Y's to find one.

The way to tell if it's OEM:
On the glass panel there should be two metal tabs (front of glass facing the front of the car) and a bulky release handle that is all black with two chrome release pins
On the roof: The two tabs slide into two yellow plastic receivers. the rubber weather stripping faces up and the metal overlaps the glass section
it's hard to explain, maybe tomorrow I can get some pictures of my Dads car.
