I recently went with H/C/I, and the driveability & power are good, but the car is seriously flooded on cold start-up & barely starts. Blip the throttle & it blows out the fuel & clears up. Also will stall out on idle from time to time. But it runs fine when underway.
Leave it parked for 15 minutes, & it's loaded w/fuel again.

Incidentally, I changed out the C&L and went back to the stock meter & the car seemed to pick up 30HP & gobs of torque. But the stalling started when the stock meter went back in.

We get no codes.
I have a very mild cam---Baby Crower 15510---and had hoped to avoid a chip---is this what I need, or is there some sensor that needs repalcement???

Sound familiar to anyone?

Do you have long tube headers? If so, that will affect initial cold start ups. Some self tuners here (TwEECers users) have had to make adjustments for long tubes because of cold start issues - I think it's something to do with the O2s being moved further down the exhaust. I'm not sure of the function though. I'm sure they will see this and comment though. You may want to do a search in the Tuner section and here on long tubes if you have them. If not then forget everything I just stated.

No.
Equal length shorties, which predate the H/C/I upgrade--and the present problem.

My car does the same thing. There is a strong smell of gasoline from the exhaust. But when I start it, it will jump up to 1500rpm then drop below 1000rpm and keep dropping until it stalls. When I turn it back on, I have to give it gas.

Ive seen liquid (which smells like gasoline) coming from the exhaust when I rev it in neutal.

It has not been dyno tuned (and may still be on a supercharger tune) but maybe yours needs to be dyno tuned?

The stalling seems to have (mostly) abated. Perhaps the computer is learning the new set-up?

But the rich start continues. I fear I will have to get a dyno tune & chip. I'd hoped to avoid the additionaql cost, but.....?

Any ideas?
Would a leaky injector do it?
Or would it throw a code?

Idles around 800-900 according to the stock Ford tach.
Does not hunt or race, but occasionally stalls when idling.

I can only assume you still run 19's since you went back to the stock meter

Are you running your combo with elevated fuel pressures

If so, maybe at cold start, you are just over powering things
but
I doubt it so this is just a wag response here

A bit more specific detail about your combo would make it easier for us to make some kind of guess

Combo is GT-40 aluminum heads (ported) w/1.6 roller rockers, GT-40 intake (ported), 70mm BBK TB, Baby Crower Cam (15510)
I did keep the stock MA meter---the C&L didn't work right.
I do have an adjustable fuel pressure meter---it's set at stock pressure---maybe turning it down is worth a try.
Maybe it's malfunctioning????
Thanks for the idea!

Do you have a fuel gauge? What fuel pressurse are you running at idle with your setup?

You need more fuel IMHO

19's are too small for what you now got

Yes, you can up the pressure
but
It is not as effective as larger size inj's

I'd get that taken care of BEFORE you chip it

Good Luck which ever way you go and keep us in the loop
