My friend, John, was in Vegas recently and sent me these pics of the Super Snake before it was loaded onto the truck and headed off to the Woodward Dream Cruise.

Thanks for the post of such a raw and powerful Stang, but I do have 1 MEGA gripe!!!!! Why on Earth would you pay nearly $100K for a car that has vinyl stripes that peel off when brand new????? Spend the extra grand to have it done right and paint them on:mad: These 2 pics show the edges already coming up under the hood scoop on the right side.:nonono:

That's really lame to say the least.... Look at all the buffing compound up inside that scoop. Shame on Shelby for performing some very piss poor work. :notnice:

U.M.

No... 100K for the privilege to own a Mustang that will give you 750rwhp with little mods. :D

But I agree.. Ford didn't do a damn thing to make it look like it's worth that kinda $$$ :notnice:

Little Mods.......what planet are you on......maybe Ford factory mods....even so to jack the price up to 100k for a 'special edition' is absurd, privledge yeah I can see that.

I thinks its real upsetting after going on e-bay only to find one dearlership in NC is starting the bid out at 125k for one of these. Thats absolutly ridculous, but I'm sure there's some fool out there that will bid on it.

At the very minimum they could have painted on the stripes.........................

I don't know why everybody is being so fussy. This car is the new King of the Road. The 725hp version should turn the 1/4 mile in the high 10 second range, making it faster than a Ferrari Enzo, Dodge Viper and Corvette Z06.

I have the same exact Flat Black stripes on my Stang and I don't have an issue with them. In fact, I would rather have vinyl stripes than paint because paint is vulnerable to fading and scratches. You can bring the luster back in vinyl stripes with chemical compounds.

And this car is supposed to retail for $72,000 something from what I have read. $72,000 and own the road. Well that is before the dealers mark them up.

I'm not sure what I'd do. I would expect more attention to detail to the car for 100K, but then I'm kinda glad it's still the same Mustang as the V-6 you can buy, just with some heavy apperance and engine mods. Worth 5-6 times the price, no, I don't think so. It's still a Mustang no matter how fast and awesome it is. We are forgetting what the Mustang really stood for in the past. CHEAP, FUN, FAST, SWEET! That's my kinda ride! The SS and KR are awesome ideas, and they deserve the chance to live, but the Mustang wasn't ever ment to compete with a Ferrari or even a topend Vette. I can appreciate whats been done to them, but it's not worth the money. If you wanna be King of the Road in your area for a while, until Chevy or Dodge or someone else comes out with a car that can beat yours, then buy it. Because that's all the market is about, who's on top now, who's the King of the Road now. That's my $2.

This car is pretty much todays equal as the original Shelby GT500 was so it makes sense. With all the upgrades, it should be able to make the most of its powerplant unlike the GT500. Granted the Viper has been out for over 10 years and the Vette has had a few limited runs at the higher end of the ladder(Lingenfelter and Callaway), but they are still in a different class as the Mustang. The thing that will help them(if they could keeps the prices down)is they are out of the gate a few years ahead of the Camaro and its high HP version. On the note of this compared to most European sports cars and exotics...how can it be:shrug: It is neither a sports car OR an exotic. It will never be as refined as those others...period. Performance equal, perhaps, but still in a reasonably raw form.

i like what i see overall but the fit and finish leave something to be desired...for that kind of money i dont care what category this car falls into it should better...for a less money you can have a z06 to me that is a no brainer it would smoke this car

This is a car that you buy to 1.) own a piece of history, 2.) cause you can :D.

As for the stripes and grille, I work for a Ford Dealer and we have some of the Shelby GT's(like a hopped up GT). They are shipped enclosed transport from Shelby in Las Vegas to our dealership. The one's we got were both VERY dirty and had scuff marks all over the stripes. They came off, but I don't know if it's a lack of quality control or insufficant materials but I wouldn't be too happy with thay shoddy "workmanship."
