i know i should have thought about this more before the motor was built i intended to use nos...but now am sprung and actually always have been on a supercharger.....is it still safe to run a 5 or 6psi on a 347 stroker 10.5:1 compression...all forged high volume oil pump and 8 quart pan? if not ill just stick with the juice

You can run low psi on that motor.
You just have to make sure your tune is conservative. Also, run an intercooler.
If you have aluminum heads it will help with detonation.

This is just me but i wouldnt run a blower with 10.5:1 compression unless you running some race gas.

If you had to though, get a procharger since they have intercooled centri's that are great for high compression engines. An aftercooled (water cooled) vortech will cost you more than a basic procharger.

The Paxton stuff is a little better. The overall quality is a notch above vortech. They, however, will work equally well.

With a good tune you can get away with up to 10psi or more even. Have a buddy running a 10+ to one 347 with a Novi 1000 and making 12#'s with the stock blower pulley and 8" renegade lower. But he does have a crane interceptor to help with timimg and fuel under boost.

It can be done, but a chip is a must for anything over 6 pounds to be safe...

I wouldn't put a supercharger on a 10.5:1 motor if you intended on being a street car. You're either going to not run a lot of boost or run race gas all the time. A supercharger is a big investment to not be able to take full advantage of it's potential. If you have a stock block (and I'll assume you do) you can split it with an decent 306 and a power adder. Since it's a 347, it's going to take even less effort to reach it's limits. If you need some extra power, just add nitrous.

LS1s can do it. Pretty sure you can. 10-11lbs is the absolute max you'll ever run on premium gas, though. Keep the tune at 11.5:1 a/f or even 11:1
