Supercharged Foxes.....come on in!!

Hey everyone,

I need help making a decision about what I want to do with my car.
I am looking for the following information:

1. What brand/model supercharger are you using?

2. What boost are you running?

3. What engine combination are you running?

4. What kind of horsepower are you seeing?

5. What are your ET's if you have them?

6. What recommendations can you offer regarding a supercharged Fox body?

Its time I start cracking into the motor of my car. Everyone around me has been getting faster while I have been standing still.

Thanks for referring me to posts I have already read. I am not looking for opinions on which supercharger I should get. I am looking for cold hard facts and numbers and I will make the decision on my own.

You have a supercharged car and didn't answer my question.

I run a Vortech and am very happy with it. I don't have dyno #s and it is not track driven. The install was relatively easy to do. Some people don't like the Vortech b/c you have to tap into the oil pan. I didn't think it was a problem but you may. The ATI does not require tapping the pan and has a nicer bracket. If I had the extra $5000 at the time then I would have gone with a ATI but since I already had 30lb injectors, a 255 pump, and crane ignition I went with the Vortech (absent the pieces I already had). Like I said, I have been very happy with it and it is very streetable. I don't know how this info is different than the stuff I posted before but w/e. Good luck in deciding.

I also run a Vortech. No dyno numbers on my combo though. But you can check out complete combo and track times I have with it. When I ran those times I was making 10#'s of boost. Also I didn't tap the oil pan, instead I drilled a hole and put a fitting on the timing chain cover for the oil to drain back down. I drilled the for the fitting where the dip-stick would go on older style timing chain covers.

I actually live in Tonawanda. Once in a while I'll go to the Burg to Taffy's. Do you frequent any of the local cruises? I may have seen your car before.

Jay, I haven't really taken the car to cruises. do you go to the one at Uncle joes in the burg? I work at the base. If you are planning on going to any cruises let me know.

Yeah I have seen a lot of that. I do like the fact that Powerdyne is self contained. I really don't have a problem running oil lines but to elimate that step is fine with me.

I never hear a lot about people using Kenne Bell. The prices seem about on par with Vortech and Procharger. I like the idea of instant TQ response.

Never went to Uncle Joes. I don't make it to Hamburg very much. I usually will hit Jimmy B's in Lockport. This year I haven't been out very much though.

Powerdynes aren't that bad of a blower, but don't like allot of abuse. I had one on my car before the S-trim. On the street is was great and on the track worked good. But after so many trip to the track the internal belt would tend snap. I got tired of putting belts in so I swapped to the Vortech. Can't really give a side by side comparison of the two though. Because when I swapped I also did a converter change as well as rim/ tire combo change.. But with the PD and 9#'s of boost, 3400 stall, Pony rims with Nitto DR's the car ran 11.8x's @ 117-118. With the Vortech and 10#'s on 17" Cobra rims and Mickey T drags radails it went 11.19 @120-121...

Those are some nice times. I would like to achieve that level of ET as well.

I went with an older Paxton SN 89 ball drive....
I have a 3.75 pulley on it and get 8 psi. No dyno #'s yet. Its self contained, easy to install and CHEAP on ebay (under 1000) and you can rebuild them yourself if it goes bad ....
