hurt. they force more air into the cylinders which means more fuel is used to keep the AFR right. so it's worse than stock. plus if you had forced induction, would you be able to stay light on the go pedal??

If you are thinking about a supercharger, you shouldn't be worried about fuel mileage.

Well.... depending if you can stay out of the boost, it makes the motor more efficient but it does use more fuel. It just depends on the driver mainly

I get a reduction in fuel consumption on the highway and an increase in fuel consumption in town. That's going across pretty much the entire state of Pensylvania on the turnpike over the mountains. All I can figure is that since there's no more need ot downshift going up hill that I'm ending up saving gas. That long haul gas savings does not make up for the extra that I spend in gas during my daily drives. I'm running a 2.2L Blowzilla at around 9lbs.

What's usually worse for milage, a blower or doing HCI? Assuming either would be a fairly mild, street tuned setup on the stock block, on an average 5 speed car with 3.55's... like 6-9lbs boost on stock HCI vs. a fairly mild HCI combo (say GT40's or Performers, Cobra or Performer intake, E-cam or TFS Stage 1... nothing too extreme)?

I know there's a million variables that come in to play in the real world, and each specific combo is going to be totally different, but can anyone give me a really general idea?

Not that I'd base a decision of which route to go with on that... I'm sure the added power from either would be well worth having to fill the tank more often. Just something I've always been curious about.

Don't forget that you'll need to run 92+ octane fuel with a supercharger
