for my 1995 gt 5.0. I have lowered it 2'' steda suspension front and rear, short throw shifter, cai,3:73 gears and has 48,000 orignal miles.

Want to get some real power out of it. Would like to run in the low 12's.

Any suggestions?

A supercharger will get you there before HCI will, however dropping and stiffening your suspension is hurting you if you're looking for a faster 1/4.

You're going to have low 12 second power before you find low 12 second traction.

Is the best time at the strip what you're really after or is this really a street car?

I would get a slightly oversized supercharger that can grow with you. I would also get a set of valve springs and rocker arms that can be transferred to new heads in the future.

Adding a supercharger now will make every mod from here on out more rewarding. But i def. would improve the valve train.

Go with the blower. Learn from my experience, it's so much easier, and cheaper. I pulled consistent 1.68 short times with my Steeda suspension. It's more than adequate for low 12s. Probably not the most ideal, but definately better than stock.

Thanks for the tips. I am heading toward the supercharger or if i sell my house its going to be a new roush 427:)

I love my steda set up looks great and handles great too. Again thanks for the tips.

NA or Blower

That Q has been asked like 1000 times before :rlaugh:

You want low 12's as a goal to shoot for :)

I'm gonna guess you are talking OEM shortblock

NA First

Yes ... A well planned h/c/i with ALL the supporting stuff can do it

but

You gotta be V E R Y good with your 1/4 mile driving skills
You gotta be able to 60 foot well below the 2 mark (sticky tires)

Summing up ... You gotta drive it like you stole :D
and
You gotta not be aftaid if you are gonna break it

Now ... Blower

Since you got that OEM block you wanna be careful about trying to
go both h/c/i AND blower cause you'll have no prob going to and beyond
block splitting power

If I was gonna go blower on a street car and oem block ........
I'd focus more on the blower and less on the na hot rod parts ;)

Also ... running a blower on the street is gonna require a bit more
from its owner than running a na combo with gas quality, heat issues,
and the like.

Another thing ... buying a kit is just the start :bang:
You need upgraded inj's, meter, ignition, tune, and more

Of course ... either setup will exceed your t5 limits :rlaugh:

Just trying to expand things to ... as they say ... the big picture :)

I am not sure it is cheaper or easier.. . Mine has become a money pit trying to get the supercharger to work with other componets.. My dad went HCI route and has half the work, half the problems..

It didn't help that my s/c bearings went out at about 1000 miles..

Sounds like a bad experience. Not denying it happens, but most people install the blower in about 3 hours, and work out kinks in a few days.
