I was just quoted about $5,800 for a Vortech supercharger installed and tuned.. That includes injectors, guage, the supercharger, setup and installation. Am I getting robbed? Or good price??

check out www.modularfordpowerhouse.com and see their prices for a complete Vortech kit..its got everything you need plus a custom tune for your car..but the installation isn't included in that price for obvious reasons.

My local ford dealer quoted me about 700 for the install of a supercharger, but I dont know if that included tuning.
I thought vortech supplies a computer chip for you so you dont have to have it tuned.

I installed a Kenned Bell unit myself and It was very easy.

That price is about right. As long as it includes fuel pump But I would personally take it to Tim.

Who knows anyone who purchased this kit? I am sure I can figure out how to install it, but have you heard of any horror stories? Or kits that don't work right after installation?

The guy who quoted me actually only works on Mustangs. He is know very well in NJ. He has been doing this forever. Still think I could do it myself???? I am just a little weary that I'll screw something up..

well if you ask anyone on this board who T&J are and how they do business you will be well reassured that its a safe, reliable, and powerful tune. i believe to this day tim hasnt lost an engine w/ the "cobra killer kit"

you have a few fokes that are using the novi2k making 500+ hp. of course thats w/ a built bottom end.

the reason the kit is so effective is because it had an adaptable tune. meaning if its real hot and humid outside the ECU will retard timing of the engine.... making it safer. same goes if its cold and dry... it will up the timing... you can also add mods to the car w/o getting a "reburn"

check out the site. and the forums over there.

guy by the name of "cobra killer" on this site is Tim from T&J.....

good luck w/ your decsion.

I bought it. I installed it. I love it.

(I was not sure I'd be able to do it but it really was not bad).

Tim is first-class; he has earned his outstanding reputation.
