Hey guys i had a couple of questions. First of i have a 02 mustang gt. I have xpipes , headers , and exhaust. My rear end has upgraded axles , diff , and gears 4.10's ( i know 3.73s are the ones to go with but thats what i have right now. The motor is completely bone stock. I want to add a supercharger. Im confused on which one. Alot of people are saying Procharger on the forums from what ive searched but then i hear novi 2000 or kenne bell. Also if im supercharging the stock motor what else is needs to be upgraded to handle i believe 8psi is what is recommended for stock applications. This is going to be a street set up. I wanna go to the track here and there but mostly i want to be able to drive it on the street. Its not a daily driver just a weekend car for fun. Im willing to drop the coin if it means getting the best product out there for my car. My goal is to make 350hp-400hp safely with the stock motor, if possible.

My last question. How much can the factory transmission handle. I want to upgrade to a six speed whats the best one out there that can take a beating???

Refer me to any websites you guys know of that have great prices and sell complete kits. Thanks for the help.

Procharger, Kenne Bell, Vortech, and Paxton all make a great reliable blower. A twin screw SC like the KB would be fun for around town driving because the boost is instant. With a Vortech, Procharger, or paxton (centrifugal blowers), the boost kicks in around 2500-3000rpm @ WOT. However, 4.10's and a KB, traction would be a huge issue. You would have to swap to 3.73's . That being said, make sure you get the car tuned for a 11.5-11.8 air fuel ratio so the engine lasts. And for transmissions, most get the tko600 or t56 transmission. I would save your money though, the stock tranny (tremec 3650) can withstand about 400-500 TQ.

I agree with the above. I have a KB 1.7L with 4.10s and have lots of fun. It's
not a daily driver, but gets driven quite a bit. I have 6000 miles now with the
KB with no issues. It's 9psi and intercooled. That's about the recommended
limit for a stock block if you want it to last. I don't think you could go wrong
with any of what was suggested. It all depends on what you want out of
the car. Someday I do hope to make a few passes on the 1/4 mile just to
see. I still have the stock clutch and tranny. Good luck with whatever you
choose.

My kit was just about $5000 direct from KB. It's very complete and not too hard
to install. Just read thru the directions a few times to make sure you understand
everything and you have all the tools you will need. I did mine over a weekend
with the help of one friend basically to set it in place. I am very happy with
it.

Look on the boards for a good used setup. It will be MUCH cheaper. Then get it tuned at a good dyno shop in your area.

don't know if they still need to do this with their new style blowers, but when i ordered my 1.7 i also ordered the larger tb, big tube kit, 90mm meter and the kb cai ... so when they sent me the entire kit it came with a smaller pulley. they claimed that with the better flow into the blower sometimes it wouldn't make the full 9lbs boost. mine also came with the larger injectors and made over 10lbs boost, seems like i paid about 6k for all of it.

If you go with vortech or paxton, check out www.coolblueperformance.com for great pricing. I have not bought my Novi 2000 yet but they have the cheapest prices that I could find.
