Supercharger Whine

I was wondering (Hope this isn;t a dumb question) What Vortech supercharger compares to the loudness of a Kennebell supercharger. Granted, i know nothing touches it in quality and kick assness !! The V1-S, is that too loud??, or the V2-SQ??. I want something noticeable but not TOOO LOUD!

I have a SQ and I think it sounds great, not to loud and is very noticeable.. But this is the first car that I have had that is supercharged so in comparison I cant give you any pointers. You might be able to search the net and find some good sound or video clips of s/c. Sorry I couldnt be more help!

96COBRA4.6----How long have you had your supercharger on.. reason i was asking.. is running 10 ps.i. wouldn;t that hurt your motor??? i.e. how many years??

V1....loud. Like you can hear it 6-8 houses away as it's pulling up to your house.

V2 (what I have)....decent volume at idle, not too loud but you can still hear it...sounds a little like jet whine. You can hear it maybe a house away.

KB....can't hear anything at idle but when you get on it, stand back, it's louder than the exhaust.

Neither Vortech whine is close to the KB whine when you are cruising around. You hear the Vortech more or less at idle. That's my take on it anyway as I've heard them all.

I got my super charger installed recently. It's the V-2 SC trim @ 10 pounds of boost.

I thought this was funny.

I picked up Joanna. I've known her for years now so she knows my car, or so she thinks. We was first in line waiting at the traffic light. She started turning her head left and right and looking through the side mirrors. She said that she hears an ambulance coming and that I should watch out for it. I just look at her with a grin as she continues to bob her head. Then I tell her the sound that she's hearing is my supercharger up under the hood. That girl actually thought that an emergency vehicle was approaching with sirens blazing. lol

Whatever model that you get, I'm sure you'll be happy with it.
