According to what I have read here and on the KB website, with a safe tune and not making more than 400 or so HP you should be fine.

pretty much what kilgore said as long as you dont go over 400HP and a safe tune you will be ok, but i would consider saving up for a forged bottom end

It's all in how good of tune you get. Trust only the best!

with ported heads and cams I think ur gonna need to forge out the bottem end because even with a safe tune and running 6-8psi you'll probably be over 400 at the wheels

yea im gonna say you should forge it out first also. with the heads and cams you will be making more power then a stock car with the 1.7. kb says its safe on a stock car.

You have a 1.7 IC 11lb, heads and cams and are only at 439/434?

That must be one very conservitive tune. I would think you would be at closer to 475 or so with those added mods.

Those are actually good #s. Plus he has an auto. KB 1.7L really lose its efficiency when you go over 10 PSI. There are some who couldn't top 450rwhp (with a 5-speed) despite running on 14lbs max. Unlike the KB 2.2, the 1.7 wasn't exactly designed to run that much boost.
